Festivities & Traditions

It is not a secret that Mexico is a country immensely rich in millenary traditions, full with magic and color, mysticism and syncretism…rituals that connect with the peoples´ faith, their ancestors, and their land. One cannot truly know Mexico if they don´t experience its traditions, rituals and culture.

From la Guelaguetza (Mondays on the Hill) the biggest dancing celebration or the Night of the Turnips both in Oaxaca, the San Marcos fair in Aguascalientes, Easter in Taxco and Michoacan, the pilgrimage to the Guadalupe Virgin Basilica or the Chalma sanctuary, the Day of the Dead in Janitzio and Puebla, the Hanal Pixan in Yucatan, the Stations of the Cross ceremony in Iztapalapa, the Spring and Winter equinoxes in Chichen Itza and Teotihuacan; the celebration of Independence in every downtown; the carnaval of Veracruz or the Candelaria celebration in Tlacotalpan, or the Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato.
