Ecuador

Ecuador and Galapagos

In the Middle of the World

Ecuador, a tiny territory in the middle of the world where everything fits to offer some of the most complete and exciting experiences and adventures someone can have.  Its beautiful colonial cities like Quito and Cuenca, the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes part of the Andes mountain range and named by the famous explorer and scientist Alexander von Humboldt, which spreads out the little country with more than 60 volcanoes some very actives ones.

The yellow highlands that stretch out for hundreds of miles around the skirts of volcanoes like the Cotopaxi with haciendas such as The Porvenir and Zuleta perfect for a horseback ride in quest of the mighty condor; hundreds of lost lagoons scattered all over the valleys, hot springs in Papallacta which welcome tired hikers; vast cloud forests which are a paradise for bird watchers who only stepping out to the balcony of Mashpi Lodge they will encounter tenths of bird species.

The beauty of the Ecuadorian amazon basin is its accessibility…a short flight from Quito to Coca, a fun motor boat ride through the winding and beautiful Napo river to reach the heart of the jungle and find an oasis of leisure and comfort at Sacha Lodge or the Napo Wildlife Center Ecolodge, without forgetting Cuyabeno Lodge at the center of Cuyabeno National Park.

Talking about Ecuador without mentioning the Galapagos islands would be stealing this amazing country of one of its most special places which complement perfectly a trip to this part of the world.  Either staying at the unique Pikaia Lodge in the island of Santa Cruz or island hopping sailing in a beautiful sailboat or yacht, the experience of visiting this “world” away from everything, which has followed its own evolution, it is a dream come true to all nature and adventure lovers.
